Have you read Quran yourself ? If there was no concept of reward or punishment then there would be no purpose of the day of judgement, so the concept of free will might not be that simple. We have been shown the path of good and bad, what path we choose is upon us, this much free will we have, however since God knows everything from past and future , so he knows whether we are gonna choose the right or wrong path. As far as punishment for the sin is concerned, it is UpTo God to forgive or punish whoever he will, but he is also Just and for that he is gonna make people accountable for their actions
Yes, I’ve read the Qur’an many times, but I am fully convinced there is no free will because God controls all things. I think it’s important to consider teachings about the day of judgment in light of this truth and that that has been the focus of much of my work.
Imagine you Design a computer where you have predefined the logic decisions at diode level for ones and zeros, now the output of the diode will depend upon the input , but It can not be said that you are controlling the output of that diode, whether it will be zero or one, so the good and bad have been told, now the decision to choose between good or bad will remain with us , however since God is ever and all knowing, so he already knows what we gonna choose, that is pre knowledge not oredestination
The reality is that due to the omnipresent nature of God, His being extends boundlessly to encompass the entirety of existence. If you consider questions such as ‘What is God?’ and ‘Where is God?’ you can intuit this. If there are no boundaries to God’s existence and His being then it must mean that creation exists ‘within’ God. If this is true, there is no room for free will. Everything that happens in creation is willed and directed by God. I believe we need a theology that understands the Scriptures in light of this truth. I have written books about this that elaborate further if you are interested in exploring these arguments in greater depth.
Pre-knowledge or pre-destination… may be there are some avenues of further research. Will get back to you once I an able to find something of your Interest
